Hello! I’m alangaelrojas — that’s my nickname across all platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and yep… now on Threads too. If you see that handle, it’s probably me!
I’m a software engineer passionate about technology, computer science, and continuous learning. I love thinking about mobile development and user experience, aiming to create a smooth harmony between the application and the user.
I also enjoy reading, especially technology books. Some of my favorites are Clean Code by Robert C. Martin and Kotlin for Java Developers by José Dimas Luján.
Recently, I’ve stepped into mobile game development, publishing my own Minesweeper game on Google Play, which I actively maintain and improve. Lately, I’ve also started writing and sharing book reviews on my personal blog and Medium.
I’ve been working as an Android Developer for over 7 years now, so here’s the short version of my long story. I started developing apps using C# and Xamarin for a university class called Desarrollo Móvil (“Mobile Development”). After spending some time with it, I realized I didn’t love Xamarin… but I did fall in love with building apps. There was something magical about compiling an app on my phone for the first time — I call that moment happiness.
After finishing that class, and with some experience in Android (and a little iOS), I met an amazing person: José Dimas Luján (https://github.com/josedlujan). Thanks to him, I dove deeper into native Android development with Java. I loved how much easier and more powerful native development felt. I’ll never forget the chaos of compiling Android projects in Xamarin, updating NuGet dependencies, or trying to keep up when Google released a new Android API level 😅. Native development is still a mess sometimes 🤣… but definitely a better one!
Eventually, I bought one of José Dimas’s Android books and read it almost every day. It genuinely felt like a bestseller to me because of how much value and motivation it gave me. That’s when my passion for Android truly exploded. ❤️

Now, in 2025, more than 7 years after I started, I’m even more passionate than before — not just about Android, but also about the rest of the ecosystem that makes software development so exciting.
For over a year, I’ve also been immersing myself in UX Design, Gamification, Machine Learning, and, of course, keeping up with the AI wave of 2025.
On top of that, I love teaching. I’ve been giving online Android programming classes through Superprof, which has allowed me to meet incredible people with amazing ideas. One of those projects is FitCube, created by a founder passionate about fitness who designed a system to analyze and track exercise performance using a WitMotion Bluetooth device that measures motion data. We’re working hard to launch this platform as soon as possible.
I hope to keep using this blog more and more to share insights about programming, mobile development, UX, and much more.
Thanks for reading!
